Pompei
Home of commercial exchanges in the roman years, pompei was hit by the disastrous eruption of the Vesuvius in 79 dc, that eliminated any living being and filled the area with volcanic ash.
Around the middle of the 1700 the excavations were started.
The rich town centre includes the big archaeological area and the famous sanctuary of the beata virgin of the rosary, where every year almost 4 millions of pilgrims go, and the Vesuvius museum gian battista alfano.
